Department of Tourism Management
As the first tourism faculty of the University of Science and Culture, Faculty of Tourism Sciences began its academic activities in 2012-2013 academic year.
At present, Department of Tourism Management offers a discontinuous bachelor’s program in hospitality, a bachelor’s program in international tourism management and a master’s program in tourism management (marketing subdiscipline). It is worth mentioning that it used to offer a Ph.D. program in tourism management till last year. However, a new department was established to offer doctorate courses.
At present, its first bachelor students who were admitted in 2012-2013 academic year are completing their studies.
In the second semester of the current academic year (2016-2017), 155 bachelor students are now doing their studies in international tourism management.
Also, 30 master students are now continuing their higher studies in marketing subdiscipline of tourism management.
A number of students write their proposal and thesis in the fourth semester.
Moreover, a discontinuous bachelor’s program in hospitality is offered to 40 students by the Department of Tourism Management.
Before the education-research method was replaced with education-based method, those master students who were not able to write a thesis could complete a total of four credits in relevant courses instead.
